THE FOUNDER
STORY

A brilliant operator with a dead LinkedIn. He had the war stories — a near-shutdown, the lessons that came with it — but every draft read like a press release. So we wrote the one he was too proud to post. It became his most-shared post ever, by 10×.

Eighteen months ago I had nine days of runway and a term sheet that died on a Friday afternoon. I didn't tell my team. I didn't tell my wife. I told myself I'd "figure it out over the weekend." So I did the one thing I'd been avoiding: I called every customer who'd ever said "let me know if you raise prices." All 31 of them. I didn't pitch. I asked one question: "What would you pay to never lose this?" By Tuesday, 11 of them had pre-paid a full year. By Thursday, we were default alive. The lesson wasn't grit. It was this: your customers will tell you exactly how to survive — but only if you're brave enough to ask before it's too late. We're profitable now. I still keep that dead term sheet in my desk drawer. Not as a wound — as a reminder that the answer was never in the deck. It was in the calls I was too proud to make.

THE BRIEF

The ask

He had the rarest thing in tech — a genuinely good story — and the most common problem: every time he sat down to write it, it came out sounding like a quarterly update. He wanted to sound human without oversharing, and to do it without spending Sundays staring at a blinking cursor.

The voice

Plainspoken, a little self-deprecating, allergic to buzzwords. We built the post around one true moment and one earned lesson — no "agree?", no humble-brag, no twelve-slide carousel. Just the story told the way he'd actually tell it across a bar table at 11pm.

The result

His most-engaged post ever, by an order of magnitude. It put 14,000 new followers and 30-plus inbound conversations in his lap inside a week — two of which became partnerships. More importantly, it gave him a repeatable way to sound like himself on demand.
